Honor Guard Upcoming Events |
|
The Honor Guard has two events in the near future that we invite everyone to attend.
On May 15th @ 1100, Wayne County will add the names of recently fallen Heroes to the Hines Park Memorial at Hines Drive and Haggerty in Plymouth Township. The Honor Guard will represent the Department during a special reading and a bell ringing ceremony. The Honor Guard will debut our new department bell that was reclaimed off retired Ladder 1.
Come see the base of the bell that was handcrafted from quality supplies by the Union Town Woodshop in Detroit. A big, "Thank You" to both Dan Haller and Larry Mosier for donating the wood and for Dan's tireless and artistic shaping of the base our bell now sits upon. Union Town Woodshop - Where trees hope to go when they die.
On May 26th @ 0900, come join the Honor Guard at Livonia's own Veterans Memorial at Five Mile and Farmington as we honor those that dedicated years of their lives (and more) for our freedoms.

Annual Gary Kreski Memorial |
|
The anniversary of Fallen Firefighter Gary Kreski is fast approaching. Please keep April 17, 2018 open on your calendars. This particular Tuesday, at 0930, we will remember Gary’s ultimate sacrifice to the City of Livonia, The Livonia Fire Department, and to his Brothers and Sisters.
The Team plans an Eat & Greet immediately following the ceremony to provide an opportunity to gather and reminisce. There will be light refreshments and finger food provided. We will move indoors should there be inclement weather.
The Team seeks a guest speaker to address those in attendance. This VIP shares insight into the career of firefighters, inspirational thoughts, words of wisdom, and/or memories of Gary. There are no requirements of the orator other than an upbeat message that today’s firefighting generation will benefit from.
If you wish to address the audience, please reply to this email no later than February 28, 2018 so we may contact you.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
~Phil
