We recently received a very nice thank you message from a resident, and with their permission we would like to share it with you. Hi Mike & LFD, I was just thinking of you and LFD who provided the Sonic alert built in smoke/CO2 alarm system for our family. We purchased baby cry transmitter to connect with the alarm system that you provided for our home.
This morning at 1:30am all stations responded to a house fire, first arriving units reported heavy smoke and flames from the charlie side. Crews made an interior attack and found the fire on the first floor. The fire was extinguished with No injuries reported and the incident wrapped up around 3:30am. Nice job to all crews including Fire Prevention who is still on scene investigating .

PREVENTING CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING
• Service all heating systems and all gas-, oil- or coal-burning appliances by a technician annually.
• Install a battery-operated and electric-powered carbon monoxide detector in your home and check or replace the battery when you change the time on your clocks each spring and fall. If the detector sounds, leave your home immediately and call 911.
• Contact a doctor if you believe you have carbon monoxide poisoning.
• Do not use gas-powered devices such as a generator, grill or stove inside your home, basement or near a near a window or door. Generators should be operated more than 15 feet from the home.

• Do not heat a home with a gas oven.
